Girls’ Basketball Season Off to an Exciting Start

It’s that time of year again, Lions fans!  Girls’ basketball has officially begun and they are looking better than ever.  Senior team captain Emma Sullivan sees a bright future ahead of the Lions, “We are improving quickly and I’m very excited about this team,” says Sullivan. The Lions are primarily a team of underclassman, with 1 junior and 2 seniors, but they are more than ready to improve and continue to be the successful team they have been known to be. They have a good mix between experience and fresh people’s excitement that combines in a great team chemistry. The Lions are certainly a force to be reckoned with and their young squad has a bright future ahead of them.  “This team is made up of young athletes who are dedicated to improving themselves as individuals and a team. Expect to see great strides in the near future!” says Coach Eileen Herr.

Last year the Lions qualified for the ACIS playoffs for the first time in 8 years and are certainly ready for another successful season. They made it to the semi-finals in the ACIS league and were undefeated for their second year in a row in the PSAA league. They won back to back championships against Martin Luther and hope to continue their winning streak!  The Lions kicked off their season on November 24th and will be playing some very challenging teams in the weeks ahead.  Be sure to come out, support, and hear those Lions roar as they rise to the occasion!
