The girls varsity volleyball game last Monday, October 7th, was a big win for Berkeley Carroll. They won in three straight games to help us clinch a spot as the ACIS division champions. The first game was won pretty easily. It was close at the beginning but then the BC girls pulled ahead with a winning score of 25-16. The second game was exciting as soon as it started. Captain Georgia Horton served and won eight straight points to give BC an early 9-0 lead, which helped the Lions coast to a 25-17 win. The third and final game was the team’s biggest win out of the three, 25-10. Starting freshman Olivia Abramchik-Cavallo lead the game with a string of twelve terrific serves. Captain Eliza Liebler ecstatically described the team’s unity, “We played incredibly well and we were really able to define ourselves as a team. Even without our coach there.” Georgia Horton agreed, “The team was able to come together when we needed each other the most.” Both captains expressed how impressed they were with the team being able to perform so well without having their coach with them. Overall it was a very impressive win to help them end the ACIS season undefeated.
